I had the pleasure of meeting Melissa Drake via a private Facebook group geared toward encourage writing among women. I had immediately felt connected to a story she had written on her son and the struggles moms have in guiding our sons on their journey into men. When she asked me to contribute content to The Good Men Project I was elated! I was also scared out of my mind too, since I had never had anything published on-line before.
I have to say that working with Melissa has been a blessing. She is honest, to the point and I love her style of edits. I love her red pen! My grammar isn’t always the best and often as a busy working mom juggling many priorities I feel that she reads between the lines and helps me mold my articles to be more impactful to the audience I am trying to reach. I never feel judged and she is always full of support and words of encouragement. As a new blogger, I appreciate this encouragement immensely!
I recently had a chance to meet Melissa in person and it was like we had known each other for years. She is a good listener, deep thinker and has a very giving nature. She is always willing to share all parts of herself, this make her an incredible editor because she leads by example, sharing her most vulnerable thoughts in her articles. I respect and admire her ability to stay true to herself. She inspires me constantly!
